He cofounded and was President of the Omaha and Nebraska Culinary Associations. He and Mrs. Bolamperti raised four sons who all became doctors. He is a member of the Honorable Order of the Golden Toque.

He is a member of the Honorable Order of the Golden Toque, the fifth member to be admitted (1962). He was the National Restaurant Association's Man of the Year (1961).

He opened Cascio's Steak House in 1946, and it is still in operation under the supervision of nephew Larry Cascio. He was inducted into the Nebraska Racing Hall of Fame (1993).
