• After moving up to the head department at OPPD his heart led him to join his father in sales at Dougherty Brokerage, 1983-2011
• Three years into his career at Dougherty Brokerage, he and his brother Dean bought it from their father
• Advantage Waypoint, Mergers and Acquisitions, 2011-2016
• Retired in 2016
• Leader of pushing industry towards regionalization, leader of creating the first National US Food Broker Organization, leader of acquisitions of a new division, Janitorial & Supplies
• Member FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), Nebraska and Omaha Restaurant Associations and member & founder of Waypoint
• Won numerous National Broker awards
• Served on many advisory boards of major manufacturers
• Loved to coach several youth sports and was the Parish Athletic Director for many years at St. Robert’s Parish
• Married to wife, Diane for 46 year with 3 kids and spouses as well as seven grandchildren
